ready, set, Big G little oooooooooooooooo...
We have finally made the decision to downsize. After living in a fairly large home for the past 26(ish) years, we are downsizing. I hurt my back about 3 yrs ago, and was unable to upkeep my home. I (let's be honest, my hubby) kept things somewhat picked up, but as far as deep cleaning, I was lucky to spend even a few minutes cleaning. Long story short, recently my back has been SIGNIFICANTLY better, but in the almost 3 years I was literally down I got to where I was resenting my home, and lack of ability to keep it up to par. I logically could not rationalize why my sweet hubby and myself needed 6 bedrooms. I then started thinking about the possibility of downsizing. I really was NOT on board, at first. I had all kinds of reasons, I had to have a large home, filled to the brim with any and everything. Once a month we have our 10 kids (our 5 and their spouses) and soon to be 13 grandchildren over for Sunday dinner. I knew that would be absolutely impossible if we downsized. Well, 2 yrs later, and now in the process of de cluttering, I am beyond ecstatic to say, we are well on our way to a perfect solution. I have a small storage room in our basement, and I was rather adamant not to lose this, by renting our basement. Instead, we are moving into the basement, and going to rent our upstairs. On the upstairs floor, we have 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, a front room and family room off the kitchen. a laundry room and a craft room. I am going to keep possession of the craft room, it will become the room not only for my crafting, but also storage for my canning stuff and a room my children/grandchildren can sleep in if they come visit or whatever. I am in the process of refinishing furniture to make this all possible. Upstairs I had 3 linen closets, and I have thrown out A LOT of stuff, but still need storage places. I will show what I have done, in the future and how I have done it. LET THE FUN BEGIN...
